THEORY OF KNOWLEDGE – IB #0900800 The purpose of this course is to make explicit through analysis, comparison, and interdisciplinary integration, the concepts of knowledge and their verification in the disciplines of mathematics, natural sciences, human sciences, history, and in moral, political, and aesthetic judgments.

COMPUTER EDUCATION #0201300 – Computer Program I; #0201310 – Computer Program II. The purpose of this program is to provide students with intensive hands-on experiences with some commonly used software packages. Advanced applications of commercially available software will be emphasized. Content should include, but not be limited to, word processing, spreadsheets, database management and integrated software packages. Problem solving with the aid of these computer applications will be stressed.

PARENTING #0800370 - Parenting I; #0800380 - Parenting II; #0800330 - Per Social Family Rel; #0800390 - Health Exp Parents. The purpose of these courses is to provide the students with skills and information that will enable them to care for and nurture the infant child. Each is worth .5 credit.

LEADERSHIP SKILLS DEVELOPMENT #2400300 The purpose of this course is to teach students leadership skills, parliamentary procedure, problem solving/decision making skills, communication skills, group dynamics, time and stress management, public speaking, human relations, public relations, team building and other group processes.

JOURNALISM I-IV #1006300 - Journalism I; #1006310 - Journalism II; #1006320 - Journalism III; #1006330 - Journalism IV. The journalism program provides instruction in all aspects of journalism and workshop experiences in journalistic production; provides practical experience in newsgathering techniques and practice in journalistic writing and gives opportunities to explore careers in journalism. Prerequisite: Teacher recommendation.

TELEVISION PRODUCTION #8772100 – TV Production I; #8772120 - TV Production II; #8772130—TV Production III. These courses are designed to provide a basic working knowledge of television production activities.

SHAKESPEARE FOR FUN #1005350 – Literature & the Arts I - 0.5 credit; #1005360 – Literature & the Arts II - 0.5 credit. The purpose of this course is to examine literature from antiquity to the Renaissance, covering at least the classical age, the medieval period, and the Renaissance.

CREATIVE WRITING I-II #1009320 - 0.5 credit; #1009330 - 0.5 credit. The purpose of this program is to develop writing and language skills needed for individual expression in literary forms.

RESEARCH #1700300 - Research I - 0.5 credit; #1700310 - Research II - 0.5 credit; #1700320 - Research III - 0.5 credit; #1700330 - Research IV - 0.5 credit; #1700340 - Research V – 1.0 credit. The purpose of this course is to provide students with skills necessary to produce basic research. Research should be performed in connection with a specified field of study.

DRIVER EDUCATION #1900310 - 0.5 credit This course has three phases running simultaneously—driving on the road, driving on the range, and classroom work. Written test and driving test for a Florida Drivers License will be administered by the classroom instructor. Prerequisite: Students must be 15 years of age to enroll and do not need a Florida Restricted License at the time the semester begins.

PSYCHOLOGY I-II #2107300 - 0.5 credit #2107310 - 0.5 credit The purpose of this program is to provide students the opportunity to acquire an understanding of human behavior, behavioral interaction, and the progressive development of individuals

ESE GIFTED STUDIES #7965040 – multiple credit This course is designed to provide appropriately individualized curricula for gifted students. Special Note: this entire course is not intended to be mastered in one year. A student may earn multiple credits in this course.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY IN A GLOBAL SOCIETY – IB #0200890 The purpose of this course is to enable students to develop the ability to explore and adapt new technological advances as tools for analysis. The interaction between information, technology, and society forms the nucleus of this course.

PERSONAL, CAREER & SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT #0500500 The purpose of this course is to provide students who need remediation in a particular subject area, such as English or mathematics, with the extra help necessary to be successful in mainstream classes and on standardized tests. This course is also available to students designated as at-risk of dropping out of high school with an opportunity to experience success in school and improve attitudes and behaviors towards learning, self, school and community.
