Academic Recognition
International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma
Awarded to graduating seniors that have met all IBO requirements. This diploma is recognized and accepted by Universities in more than 102 countries.
Advanced Placement (AP)
Students meeting set criteria with Advance Placement Courses will receive special recognition on their Diplomas. Four separate designations are possible:
- Advanced Placement Scholar: Students receiving scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams.
- AP Scholars with Honors: Students receiving an average score of 3.25 on all AP exams, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more AP exams.
- Scholars with Distinction: Students receiving scores of 3 or higher on five or more exams.
- National Merit Scholars: Students receiving an average score of 4 or higher on eight or more AP exams.
National Honor Society (NHS)
The National Honor Society is a prestigious national academic organization. To become a member, students must demonstrate outstanding scholarship, active service, leadership and worthy character. Selection is made once a year with only 2nd semester sophomores, juniors and seniors eligible. To qualify, the student must have a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5. Candidates must also meet the NHS criteria for service, leadership, and character. Applications are made available to those students meeting the GPA requirement.
FCAT Certificate of Achievement
Students that score at level 5 in FCAT reading and math and level 5 or higher in writing receive this award.
Honor Roll
Students who achieve an honor roll GPA will be recognized for outstanding academic achievement:
- Principal's Honor Roll: 3.5 GPA and above
- Honor Roll: 3.0 to 3.49 GPA
