No More Homework-
A Comedy by John Henderson featuring the Junior / Senior Drama Department with special arrangement through Baker’s Plays.
When all the upper echelons of school administration are called away by meetings or illness, the student council takes over! Pamela Jones, president of the council, becomes acting principal, and gets off to a bad start when, trying to buzz for the janitor, she sets off a fire alarm instead. Then, she must decide whether to stand behind an unpopular teacher and to keep the school's star athlete out of the State Basketball Tournament. Not the least of her worries is her acting vice-principal, Buzz Bailey, who grandly advises a gossipy student that there is to be no more homework! The many complications only add to the hilarity of this proven audience pleaser.

»“A Flurry of Winds and Percussion” Concert
Thur. April 15, 2010 7:00 pm
A Special Evening of Chamber Music will feature classical and contemporary pieces by various Band Ensembles.
Because of its intimate nature, chamber music has been described as "the music of friends.” For more than 200 years, chamber music was played primarily by amateur musicians in their homes, and even today, when most chamber music performance has migrated from the home to the concert hall, there are still many musicians, amateur and professional, who continue to play chamber music for their own pleasure. Playing chamber music requires special skills, both musical and social, which are different from the skills required for playing solo or symphonic works.
Though the human voice was probably the first recognized musical instrument, percussion instruments such as hands and feet, then sticks, rocks, and logs were almost certainly the next steps in the evolution of humanity. Enjoy the creation and evolution of music through oboes, clarinets, marimbas, snare drums and more |
