As a rite of passage into the status of "senior" at VBHS, all senior students taking an English class
participate in the celebration of Geoffrey Chaucer and his immortal work, The Canterbury Tales, by participating
in a two-day event known as Chaucer Days. During these two days, senior English students dress as Canterbury pilgrims
for the day and participate in other activities, depending on the requirements of their English teacher. These activities
may include writing an original Canterbury tale, writing a creative autobiography of a Canterbury pilgrim, reciting the
Prologue to the tales, or bringing in a medieval dish.
